Kenwood Kac 1020 Manually
• 1 Answer SOURCE: ok i have the same amp and 1 2ohm dvc sub and was woundering the same thing but from futher research and askin sum xsperts. What i found out is that it is only one channel and even tho there are 2 (+) and 2(-) they actually connect inside the amp makein it one. So if u wanted to wire sumthing parralel u wouldnt have to hook wires from one coil to the other on the speaker, u can just hook it up to the amp. So basically both +'s and negatives on the amp are actually one within it so all the power if you only use one set of them and if u wanna add more subs its just easier to add to the amp by using the xtras.

This is a simple wiring all after market amps are the exact wiring there will be three posts one that probably says 12 volt, another that says either REM, or REMOTE, and another that says Ground go and buy a amp wiring kit, it will have everything, the 12 volt post it attached to the positive of your battery post, the REM or Remote wire is attached to the blue wire with the white stripe on the back of your deck, NOTE! If you have a stock radio you need to get the wiring diagram for your wire harness if you need this let me know ill help you get it, and the ground goes within 6 inches away from the amp attached to bare metal on the body of your car. It should be plain as day where the speakers connect to. The 12V screw connects to the main power from battery, be sure to fuse that wire and use a proper size wire, thicker is better,I suggest at least 8gauge with 40amp fuse.
The GND is ground and should connect to car metal, file paint for soild connection. Stata Download Student Version. The REM is remote and connects to the remote of headunit or if you have a stock deck to the acc of car found in wire harness of headunit.
Plug in the RCA's to head unit, or get a converter to plug into speaker wires from car if you have a stock headunit. Mar 22, 2010 . Hello opey_69a, Here are the troubleshooting steps for fuses blowing. 1) Remove all wiring except ground, power and remote and see if the amp powers up without blowing the fuses.
If it does, the problem is in the input cables or speaker wiring. 2) The use of loudspeaker impedances below the recommended minimums will cause the amp to draw excessive current - check. 3) A shorted or grounded RCA cable may cause the fuses to blow - check.
4) If an amplifier fuse blows continually, with only +12 volt, ground and remote leads connected, the amplifier is probably defective, most likely shorted output MOSFET's. In this case the amp needs professional repair or replacement. Hope this helps. Sep 19, 2009 .
