I'm gonna go ahead and bump this vs making a new thread. I'm still fairly new to mobile devices, but my intermediate knowledge of computers kinda helps me out. Still a long shot, considering this isn't a well known tablet. Android 4.0.4 From the factory it comes with HCL's own craptastic market app (Almost expect that from a cheap India brand knock off of the iPad), which has a horrible layout, always freezes up, and doesn't have any useful/common apps. While the tablet itself has with most of the default google stuff removed from it. Including Google Play Services. I installed both the Play Store, and the Play services manually with no errors.
But when it comes to running the store, it'll run fine for about a second, then a system message will come up saying 'Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped.' BUT I can see the app giving me the terms of service prompt in the background, AFTER that error message pops up.
After acknowledging the error, it force closes the store, so I'm presuming HCL hardcoded something in to block google's app store. I've taken the well known solution to this of installing 1Mobile Market, but I just don't trust it (So many cloned apps.) and I can't get to my purchased apps. I have a very rough idea of what I'm doing when it comes to roms, I've successfully installed a custom one to an old Samsung Infuse before.
