I was able to go as far as installing the main control panel and all the modules. (L7000) There is no logical explanation anywhere on how this system works, the manual is very poorly written and just throws a ton of information at you without any clear direction on how to begin. I have Honeywell RHT6580 wireless thermostats and so far I have not been able to make them work with the L7000, not to mention I don't even know where to start with the rest of the sensors, how do you program zones? Zero support from Honeywell. Sorry to meddle, this may be a stupid idea, but it's possible that the problem lies in your network. Maybe your router is blocking some protocol that allows machines to interact with each other within the same network (internal firewall?). I'll suggest something I would try myself - install a simple app in your phone or tablet that allows to list local ips connected on your network (I use Fing, there are probably more), and check if both your phone/tablet and L5200 show up in the list of connected machines. My L7000 shows as 'Redpine signals', not sure about your model.

I have a L7000 and I can get into the installer programming. However, I'm unable to find a way to turn off the flashing green light when the alarm is unarmed and a door or window is open. The display doesn't turn off (even though I have the 30 sec sleep timer on) and flashes through the images of all the sensors that have faults. Seems like an odd behavior for an alarm panel that is disarmed.

I'm suspecting there is a setting that was missed since my installer bragged about how fast he could set up a panel. Just received my L7000 set up from AlarmGrid yesterday. Thank you for the super fast shipping! Have a question about setting up the 5834-4 key fob. It registers fine but doesn't work when I push the buttons.

There is a label on the fob saying that 'high security mode must be activated in the control for the 5834-4'. Currently the fob flashes RED when a button is pushed so it is already in high security mode. I don't see how to set the L7000 to high security mode. When I change the fob to 'STANDARD' where the fob LED flashes GREEN when a button is pushed, then the alarm can be remotely armed and disarmed. Should the fob be in high security mode that is encryped or standard mode (unencrypted?)?

When you press and hold a button on the key fob, is there a red or green flashing LED? If it is red then it is setup in high security mode which means that it is using encrypted RF signals. In order to enable HS mode on the L5200 please do the following: Security >More >Tools >Installer Code (Default is 4112) >Test >Go No Go Test Once in this mode, you will see 'Go-No-Go Test - Home to Quit' on the top of the panel in yellow. Press and hold the arm away (closed padlock), disarm (open padlock and arm stay (person inside of the home) buttons simultaneously until the panel beeps. This will put the panel into HS mode allowing the key fob to function properly.

After you have enabled HS mode, press the Home button beneath the touchscreen on the L5200. This will take the system out of No-Go-No Test mode.

Then test the key fob by pressing and holding a command for 3 seconds. **Be aware that the panel makes a loud noise to confirm arming/disarming. So you may want to step away from the panel to save your ears. This is a feature designed to inform you that the key fob executed the command when you are outside the home.

It sounds like you are using the Installer Code to arm the system.

The default installer code is 4112 and can only disarm if the installer code was used to arm. When you program a fob, you are mapping it to the default master code which is 1234. Therefore, when you arm with the fob, the system is arming with the master code and only 1234 will disarm it. The 4112 installer code will not work. I suggest you change the master code from the Users section of programming (More >Tools >enter 1234 >Users) and then arm/disarm with that code instead of the installer code.
