Hamilton Beach Scovill Crock Watcher Manual
Crock pot setting- auto shift? Crock pot setting- auto shift?::: One Thread Somewhere along the line, I 'inherited' a Hamilton Beach/ Scovill 4-quart Crock Watcher, which has a removable crock, but no owner's manual. It has 4 settings, high, low, off, and 'auto shift'. Does anyone know what auto shift is? Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question!! Jack -- jack (), January 16, 2001 Answers Jack, I belive your pot is capable of two settings, thus the 'shift' - but how ot set, ah there's the rub. SOURCE: No manual for my old Crock Watcher by Proctor Silex. The auto setting cooks on high for the first hour, then adjusts the setting to low for the remaining cooking time. Auto Shift allows the slow cooker to heat up to high and then internally shift down to low, so it gives more flexibility in cooking time.
